Why Change our Journals entries?
A fight You Were In
Chris Taylor
As I playfully wrestled with some guy he became very frustrated because I was winning. Of course he had a few wobbly pops and this kind of made him a tough guy, he had to win. I don’t know how but I beat him pretty badly. Maybe it was because I wasn’t as drunk. After the wrestling match I was pretty cold since it was January and we were right out in the middle of town wrestling right next to the road, which was smart. I told him that I quit and I didn’t want to wrestle anymore and he flipped out. He called me a wuss and he wanted to actually fist fight. I started to walk away. I don’t remember what he said but it made me laugh which didn’t make him happy. “Alright, lets go!” he said as he was shaking all of the snow out of his clothes. I told him I didn’t want to fight which caused him to persistently call me a wuss which I didn’t take a liking too. I turned around and said, “Alright, if ya really want to fight hit me!” I stuck out my chin and presented him with a wide open shot. He being in the state he was in obviously punched me right on the button. I remember it hurting a little but I don’t know what happened. I flipped out, tackled, and punched him twice. I didn’t want to keep going because I noticed he had had enough. As I was getting up I apologized to him and walked inside to get warm. I was upset that he actually punched me first but I thought, oh well. The next day he called and apologized to me which I thought was nice because he started the scrap. We became buddies and still are to this day.
Grandmas Black Couch
Chris Taylor
I picked my grandmothers black couch with red polka dots because it reminds me of my childhood. The best use we kids had for it was that it was a net in our game we like to play called hand hockey. It was mini hockey but you must use your hands and you can’t pick the ball up. Anyways, This couch is where I would take my naps when I was little and it was pretty much the center of attention when all the kids were their, which was often god love her. We used it so many different ways from a wrestling ring to a fort. Either way I think my grandma was about to have a heart attack thinking we would get hurt. Hand hockey net was the best of all though. We would put shoes down for posts and have games, which I would always lose because I was the youngest. That couch has definitely played a huge role in my life believe it or not. My grandma doesn’t own the house but my aunt has the couch in her house and everytime I sit in it, I think back to the times when us kids didn’t have a worry in the world. We just played and played hard.
Drift Wood Art
Chris Taylor
Ya know how much patience some guy must have to create that piece? Especially because it is made of scrap wood that has floated onto the beach. I guess it cleans the beach up and also gives the man material to work with so it is a win- win situation. The fact that so much time spent just looking at these pieces of wood from a different perspective can result in something so extravagant, is unbelievable. Why did he cut holes into it? I guess it does give the piece dimension but it seems to me that he was just randomly cutting holes. Im sure that he was thinking totally different and knew what he wanted to accomplish.
